The TapBox OuMini is a 60% custom keyboard reimagined from the Ou80, featuring a redesigned compact case and a distinctive multi-material weight system. Its aluminium alloy case is complemented by brushed and polished stainless steel weights and a sandblasted brass accent. The Leaf-Spring Top mount is designed to soften the rigid-contact feel of a conventional Top mount, offering a refined approach to keyboard construction.

Leaf-Spring Top Mount

The OuMini's Leaf-Spring Top retains the basic Top-mount architecture but introduces leaf springs to modify how the assembly interacts with the case.

The intended effect is to:

  • Reduce the sensation of rigid contact between the mounted assembly and case.
  • Alter how vibrations and resonance are transmitted through the structure.
  • Potentially provide a different typing feel from a conventional rigid Top mount.
