The Star Ring Accent Light

Inspired by celestial bodies that warp space around them, the Neo80 Cu features a multi-layered "star ring" light, evoking a planet’s glow against the night sky.

At its center, an aluminum "planet" with a triple-etched finish sits above a mirror-polished stainless-steel base, mimicking space. The elevated design creates a striking "floating planet" effect, adding depth to the keyboard.

This contrast of materials and textures captures industrial romanticism—the matte, rugged planet set against a glossy, seamless sky. Neo brings a slice of the universe to your desktop, a quiet companion like the starry sky above.

Weight Design

Building on its predecessor’s stainless steel weight design, the Neo80 Cu extends the weight to the USB port, seamlessly blending aluminum, copper, and stainless steel in a refined, complementary palette.

On the back, a sculpted slope at the intersection of the weight and bottom case softens the transition. At the center, the compass-inspired Cu Series logo highlights the iconic symbolism of the Neo brand.

Beyond aesthetics, the stainless steel weight and copper bottom give the Neo80 Cu a substantial 4.5kg heft—ensuring rock-solid stability and a uniquely deep, clean sound with minimal vibration.

The Waistline

From the side, the top and bottom cases flow together with gentle curves, creating an elegant, floating silhouette that balances Neo80 Cu’s substantial presence.

Three different mounts

After extensive prototyping, Neo integrated a Poron Gasket structure into the Neo80 Cu. Unlike traditional gaskets that need adhesive, Neo designed grooves in the bottom case to hold them securely, making replacement easy and improving durability. The silicone gasket mount remains available as an alternative.

The Neo80 Cu also supports a Top Mount for a stiffer feel. However, the Top Mount cannot be used with plateless builds, as the screw holes are only on the plate.

Acoustic Chamber Design with Integrated Forcebreak

Like most products in the Neo family, the Neo80 Cu’s bottom case features a strategically partitioned acoustic chamber to reduce hollowness and unwanted resonance. Neo added forcebreak pads at all contact points between the top and bottom cases, cutting vibration and eliminating metallic noise. Combined with the copper base, this design creates the signature deep, clean “copper bottom” sound—without any foam.

PEI Plate

PEI is an emerging plate material offering greater tenacity and stability than PC. It delivers a crisp sound and refreshing feel with every keystroke. Its natural semi-transparent amber tone adds a premium touch, while Neo’s clear-coat finish—rather than sandblasting—creates a smoother, more radiant look.

Flex-Cut Aluminum Plate with Glossy Chamfer

After listening to the community, Neo introduced a precisely engineered flex-cut aluminum plate for the Neo80 Cu. After extensive prototyping, Neo chose a balanced design that evens out feedback across zones while preserving aluminum’s distinctive typing feel.

The Neo80 Cu’s spacebar uses aggressive side grooving for softer feedback, reinforced by two spring-like connections for strength without added rigidity. Deep flex cuts balance strength and flexibility.

For easier switch installation, Neo added chamfered, glossy switch holes and a planet detail above the arrow keys, blending function with a refined, celestial look.
