Best Mechanical Keyboard Switches of 2023
Hey there, we've went through an insanely amount of switches this year, and pretty sure we've lost count as to how many we've tried on all our different keyboards. These are our current Top 5.
1. Neon Switch - Owlabs
Our favorite switch has to go to the Neon Switch by Owlabs. It's anti-wobble top case has to be the game changer. It features a Blended Nylon Housing and a POM Stem that gives it a really satisfying "clack". And it's a factory lubed switch. We checked the lubing out, and there's really no need to go the extra mile to re-lube this switches, use it stock and we can guarantee the sound will sound no different.
Specifications:
- Linear Switch
- Anti-wobble top case
- Blended Nylon Housing
- Special mix POM long stem (3.5mm travel)
- 62g bottom out

2. Cream Soda Switch - Gateron
The Cream Soda, nothing but compliments for this switch. They took the Famous INK Bottom and the Milky Top to give the smoothest marbly goodness. It's on the heavier side of switches. However, there is a slight wobble on the stem itself, but definitively not necessary to film. It comes factory lubed, and out of the box itself, it sound as wonderfully yummy as the name sounds.

- 63g 18mm spring
- Long pole stem (3.8mm travel)
- Milky top
- INK bottom

3. London Fog Switch - Owlabs
A light gentle clack to the ears, we would say the London Fog resembles a sip of tea in the cold weather in London, it's light and is a little sweet. With the PC Housing and the UPE Stem, it creates a smooth touch. It's a factory lubed switch again, and BSUN did an amazing job with the factory lubes, but there are some inconsistencies with the lubing. Just 1 of 2 switches, so it's not too bad. Other than that, this switch can get the "thock" or the "clack" configuration, anyway you want it.
Specification:
- Linear Switch
- UPE stem
- PC housing
- Factory lubed
- 3.6mm travel
- 20mm single stage spring

- 60g bottom out

4. SP-Star Meteor V3 - QwertyQop
Redesigned In-House by QwertyQop, the Meteor V3 is a new and improved version of the favorite SP-Star Meteor lineup. It features a Nylon Housing and a POM Stem to bring back the Meteor V1's sound while fixing the previous issues with the V1 and V2. It brings amazing "clack" or "thock" to any board and any configuration. This definitely belongs in our Top 5 and we won't have it any other way.
Specifications:
- Linear
- Nylon Housing
- Stem: POM
- Spring: 63.5g single stage spring
- PCB Mount, 5-Pin

5. V Black Switch - SwagKeys

There is no factory lube so keep this in mind that lubing is necessary if you want a smooth touch.
