The gasket structure is known for its soft, bouncy feel and clean sound, and has become one of the most popular designs in the custom keyboard community. The PCB Gasket design builds on this by introducing one major change: the PCB itself becomes the only supporting structure, removing the need for a traditional mounting plate. This lets the PCB handle both switch support and force distribution, resulting in a more consistent typing feel and a better overall sound.
The resonance space in the bottom case follows the QK80 Mk2’s design approach and further enlarges the acoustic chamber. By reducing the gaps around the switch sockets, the sound reflections become more focused and even.
In the past, supporting different layouts meant pre-cutting large sections in the plate foam, IXPE sheet, and PET sheet, which reduced their effectiveness.
With the QK65 Mk3, the plate foam, IXPE sheet, and PET sheet now use tear-notched designs, letting users easily adjust them for their layout. This reduces unnecessary pre-cutting, preserves sound performance, and allows the QK65 Mk3 to reach its full acoustic potential.
